
Andrea Meyers attended United Way of the Rubber Duck Draw in Western Nebraska so she could give her kids stocking stuffers.
“I bought two quack packs. I wanted a $25 gift card from Runza, so I bought one for each of my kids’ stockings,” she said. By the way, I just got back here in 2020, so this is the first time I’ve bought[ducks].”
Instead, she won the grand prize for the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross of the Year. Her mother, Suzanne Myers, lined up a 2022 Honda Pioneer 520 to win the runner-up prize.

Their winning entries were selected from 40 randomly selected entries at the Duck Draw Festival on Saturday, September 17th.

The pair hit the TEAM Auto Center in Scottsbluff on Thursday to sign official papers and collect their prizes. TEAM Auto donated the new SUV Corolla Cross. The Pioneer was partially donated by Sandberg Honda.

“My husband and I have been contributing to the United Way since we started working,” said Suzanne Myers. “We’ve been contributing to the phony pack since it came out.”
Neither she nor her husband, Rick, had ever won a duck dash or a duck draw. they just wanted to help.
“I’ve always wanted to support United Way, and I’m thrilled,” she said.
She also said she won her 34th overall award, a $100 Target gift card, which she gave to her husband. Suzanne Myers is the only her two-time winner this year.

According to Karen Benzel, executive director of the United Way of Western Nebraska, 8,612 ducks were purchased at the duck draw. The total amount raised has yet to be finalized, but she estimates it will be around $75,000.
“This is in support of all 27 partner agencies, community impact initiatives that we are doing throughout western Nebraska, and it’s really making a big impact… it’s coming back to the communities,” Benzel said. say.
The goal of United Way’s 2022-23 campaign was to raise $400,000. The total duck draw is probably about a quarter of the way there.
“It’s amazing to have the community support that we have in this community,” Suzanne Myers said. “I love it.”

She and her husband bought two offers side by side and said they would use the money to take a vacation to the West Coast. Andrea Myers will be taking her new SUV to Denver before she plans a cross-country trip to Washington, D.C., she said.
